How Does Art Therapy Work?

This form of creative activity is an excellent way of tapping into new outlooks, throughout the classes you can get a better understanding of yourself both by the art work and the feedback you get from other group members. Sharing your experiences and feelings about different aspects of life helps you and others find a way to adjust and feel better at home or work life. Re-discovering your creativity empowers you to find new approaches for handling many situations you encounter. The Classes also give you an insight into other cultures, which makes it easier to understand how different and similar we all are.

Is Art Therapy for me?

You do not have to be able to draw, paint, play music or be a professional. All you need is an open mind and enthusiastic to explore new things. The creative process is in the impulse, not the piece of art itself. You do not have to be an artist. You only need to be curious.

In our classes participants use different forms of art to express themselves. This form of creative activity is an excellent way of gaining new perspective and provides community value, allows social interaction /sense of be in the right place, improve mental, emotional or physical states; all these benefits raises the quality of life. It also reduces stress and enables participants to re-discover their creativity. These classes are designed for anyone who would like to meet people from other cultures and would like to discover themselves and others.

What Do I Get from Art Therapy Sessions?

An opportunity to make realisations to the art produced and work through in a supportive group setting. You will receive support, encouragement, time and space to write and do the classes mindfully, respectfully. Share and work through your blocks, receive professional support and facilitation.

Where are the Art Therapy sessions hosted?

Twice monthly classes 2.30pm -4.30pm from Saturday July 25th 2015.

Where: The Wrights Meadow centre, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire HP11 1SQ
