What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is a powerful and evidence-based form of psychotherapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. Originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder, DBT has proven highly effective for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. 

It includes emotion management skills training, behaviour change strategies and exercises lent from cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). The main focus of DBT is that you set your own goals, not the therapist. I may help you figure out your goals, much like Life Coaching, but I will mainly help you to achieve them by teaching strategies and coping skills that are relevant to your goals.
