What is a therapist, how can you help me?
A therapist, also known as a mental health therapist or counsellor, is a trained professional who helps individuals, couples, families, or groups manage and overcome challenges related to their mental, emotional, and behavioural well-being. I use various techniques and approaches to support my clients in understanding, coping with, and resolving personal issues and psychological difficulties.
Deciding whether you need a therapist is a personal and individual choice, and there’s no definitive answer that fits everyone. Feel free to give me a call to see if you’d like to work together.
If you want to feel less controlled by the limitations of your trauma – whether severe or mild, physical, emotional or mental – then therapy can help you. It can be considered an important component for lasting change, enabling you to return to life with improved function.
What should I expect during a session?
I use a blend of Integrative Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy. The modalities I use are lot more down-to-earth than they sound. It’s a combination of effective therapies including: Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnotherapy, EMDR Trauma Therapy, TFT and NLP.
Feel free to reach out and I can give more information on how these processes are used.
How long does the process typically take?
The duration of therapy can vary widely depending on several factors, including the type of therapy, your specific goals, the nature and severity of the issues being addressed, and the approach used.
Curious about what it would be like working with me?
Read reviews from clients who have worked with me in the past.
After years of feeling lost and thinking no amount of help that I could get would help me Genevieve proved that to be wrong. I had low self- esteem and zero confidence. After 7 years of battling mental health and low self -esteem I chose to reach out to Genevieve. She changed my life for the better and I could not be thankful enough. She proved what I thought to be impossible was possible. I have never felt more confident in my life and my battle with mental health is no longer a struggle. I am so thankful to her and what he has done for me. She has truly changed my life.

I’ve been going to Genovieve for psychotherapy for almost 18 months, the change I see in myself has been huge and great to see. Genovieve has provided me with a safe space each session to allow me to open up and deal with my 30+ years of built up trauma, through EMDR. I’m a totally different person since I started visiting her and that’s thanks to being able to work through my trauma at my pace with Genovieve’s guidance support and care. I really can’t thank her enough for getting me this far and I look forward to seeing new changes come. If you’re looking for support I can’t recommend Genovieve enough.

Although you keep hearing about anxiety and how it can affect individuals physically as well as mentally, I never thought that would be me or that it would have such a strong effect on my physical health. Making the choice to do therapy and being lucky enough to find Genovieve has drastically improved my mood and my anxiety levels, and in return has seen my stress levels go down and my physical symptoms and aches disappear. I’ve been lucky to meet a great therapist, very encouraging and supporting and learn that there are no wrong answers, you just need to let go of what’s beyond your control and live in the present. I cannot express how thankful I am for the help I’ve received and recomend 100% The Choice to Change.
